No, there is no lye in the finished bar.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eHow It Works\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDuring saponification, sodium hydroxide reacts completely with the oils in our formula,the lye is entirely consumed by the chemical reaction and is no longer present in the finished soap. What remains is soap, glycerin, and any excess oils we intentionally include for conditioning (our \"superfat\"). A properly formulated and fully cured cold process soap contains zero free lye. The transformation is complete, irreversible, and verifiable.
