Magnesium Sulfate

Epsom salt is pure magnesium sulfate, a naturally occurring mineral compound first discovered in the mineral springs of Epsom in Surrey, England, in the early 17th century. Despite its name, it is not a true salt but a pure mineral compound, and it has none of the culinary uses of table or sea salt. Its reputation rests entirely on its therapeutic properties, particularly its magnesium content, which is readily absorbed through the skin during bathing.

Epsom salt is one of the most popular and well-loved ingredients in bath care traditions across the world, valued for the deep sense of muscle relaxation and comfort it provides. In our bath formulas, it is a cornerstone ingredient for its ability to support genuine physical ease after exertion or stress.

How It Works

Magnesium plays over 300 roles in the human body, including muscle relaxation, nerve function, and sleep regulation. While the science of transdermal magnesium absorption continues to be studied, generations of use support the anecdotal experience of Epsom salt baths: muscles feel less tense, the body feels less stressed, and sleep often comes more easily after a long soak. Its sulfate content also supports the body's natural detoxification pathways.
