Himalayan pink salt is mined from the Khewra Salt Mine in the Punjab region of Pakistan, one of the oldest and largest salt mines in the world, formed from ancient sea beds that evaporated over 250 million years ago. Its characteristic pink to deep rose color comes from trace iron oxide content within the mineral deposit. It contains over 84 trace minerals in their natural ionic form, making it one of the most mineral-complete salts available.

In our bath and soap formulas, Himalayan pink salt contributes its beautiful natural color, its mineral richness, and the deeply satisfying, grounding character of a salt that has been forming since before the dinosaurs walked the earth.

How It Works

In bath formulas, Himalayan pink salt dissolves to release its trace minerals into the water, where they are absorbed through the skin to support remineralization and relaxation. In salt bars,  soaps made with a very high percentage of salt, creates a bar with an almost lotion-like skin feel and a unique, dense lather character. Its trace minerals support skin barrier function and contribute to a comfortable, balanced post-bath skin feel.
