Collection: Jojoba Oil

Base Oils & Butters

Simmondsia chinensis

Jojoba oil is cold-pressed from the seeds of the jojoba shrub, native to the Sonoran Desert of the American Southwest and northern Mexico. Technically, it is not an oil at all, it is a liquid wax ester, which makes it chemically closer to the skin's own sebum than any other plant-derived ingredient. This unique molecular structure is what makes jojoba such an exceptional skincare and haircare ingredient.

Because it so closely resembles the skin's natural oils, jojoba is recognized and accepted by the skin with remarkable ease. It does not clog pores, does not oxidize or go rancid, and is suitable for every skin type, including oily and acne-prone skin, where it can help regulate sebum production over time.

How It Works

As a wax ester, jojoba forms a breathable, non-occlusive layer on the skin and hair that mimics the natural protective coating produced by sebaceous glands. In haircare, it penetrates the hair shaft, reducing frizz, improving elasticity, and supporting scalp health. Its natural content of copper, zinc, and vitamin E supports follicle health and helps protect hair from environmental damage.
