Mango seed butter is extracted from the seed kernel of the mango fruit. Lighter in feel than shea or cocoa butter, it is a beautifully balanced structural butter rich in oleic, stearic, and palmitic fatty acids as well as vitamins A and E. It has a long history of use in traditional Ayurvedic skin and hair care across South Asia.

In our soap formulas, mango seed butter is one of our preferred structural butters for palm-free recipes. It adds hardness and supports bar longevity while keeping the lather feel gentle and creamy. In our haircare formulas, it acts as a lightweight sealant and moisturizer, reinforcing the hair's natural lipid structure without weighing strands down.

How It Works

The stearic and palmitic acids in mango seed butter mimic the natural lipids found in both skin and hair, which is why it integrates so well into the surface of both. In soap it builds structure without the heaviness of some other butters. In haircare, it smooths the cuticle and helps lock in moisture, particularly beneficial for dry or damaged hair.
