Collection: Neem Leaf

Botanicals & Herbs

Azadirachta indica

The neem tree, known in Sanskrit as sarva roga nivarini, meaning "the curer of all ailments", is one of the most revered plants in Ayurvedic medicine. Native to the Indian subcontinent, virtually every part of the neem tree has been used medicinally for over 4,000 years. The leaf, in particular, has a long tradition of use in scalp and skin care across South and Southeast Asia.

At Le Silo Bleu we use neem leaf as a botanical ingredient, distinct from neem oil, which is a separate entry in our Base Oils library. The leaf brings its own profile of bioactive compounds including nimbin, nimbidin, and quercetin, which contribute purifying and balancing properties to our haircare formulas.

How It Works

Neem leaf's natural antifungal, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory compounds support a balanced scalp environment, helping to address the root causes of dandruff and excess sebum production. Used as a botanical extract or infusion, it works gently but effectively to purify and tone the scalp without stripping its natural balance.
