CandleScience EcoBase™ Reed Diffuser Solution

Our reed diffuser base is CandleScience EcoBase™, a purpose-formulated, DPG-free (dipropylene glycol-free) diffuser solution made with over 50% renewable resources and certified 100% biodegradable. Traditional reed diffuser bases often use DPG,a petroleum-derived solvent, as their primary carrier. EcoBase™ was developed as a more sustainable, lower-VOC alternative that meets VOC compliance standards in all 50 US states while delivering comparable or superior fragrance diffusion performance.

How It Works

Reed diffuser bases work by dissolving fragrance oils into a carrier solution that can travel up through the porous fibers of a reed by capillary action, evaporating at the top of the reed to release fragrance into the surrounding air. EcoBase™'s plant-derived carrier solvents, primarily glycerol formal, and propylene glycol derivatives from renewable sources,provide excellent fragrance solubility and consistent diffusion without the petroleum-derived solvents found in traditional bases. Its low VOC profile means cleaner air in your home.
