Collection: Rice Bran Oil

Base Oils & Butters

Oryza sativa

Rice bran oil is extracted from the outer layer of rice grains, the bran, during the milling process. Rich in oleic and linoleic acids as well as vitamin E, it is a lightweight conditioning oil with a long history of use in Japanese and Korean skincare traditions, valued for its gentle, skin-softening properties.

In our formulas, rice bran oil works as a gentle conditioning oil that contributes mildness and a pleasant skin feel. Its fatty acid profile is similar to olive oil, making it a versatile and reliable choice for palm-free, botanical formulas.

How It Works

Rice bran oil's high oleic acid content supports skin conditioning while its linoleic acid content adds additional softening properties. It produces a stable, creamy lather when paired with harder oils and butters, and contributes to a bar that feels nourishing rather than stripping on the skin.
