Collection: Rose Petals

Botanicals & Herbs

Rosa damascena / Rosa centifolia

The rose has been cultivated for its beauty, fragrance, and medicinal properties for over 5,000 years, across ancient Persia, Greece, Rome, and the Arab world, and later throughout the gardens of France, where the rose de mai of Grasse became the foundation of the world's finest perfumery tradition. Dried rose petals in soap and skincare carry that long heritage into every bar and formula they appear in.

At Le Silo Bleu we use dried rose petals as a botanical addition to select formulas, where they contribute soft visual beauty, gentle texture, and the quiet romance that roses have always represented in French beauty traditions.

How It Works

Dried rose petals add delicate visual texture and a subtle natural astringency to soap formulas. Their tannin content contributes gentle toning properties, while their flavonoids provide mild antioxidant protection. Rose petals soften and darken slightly during saponification, developing a beautifully aged, botanical appearance in the finished bar that speaks to the handmade nature of the work.
