Arthrospira platensis

Spirulina is a blue-green microalgae, one of the oldest living organisms on earth, with fossil records dating back over 3.5 billion years. Extraordinarily nutrient-dense, it contains up to 70% complete protein by weight, all eight essential amino acids, vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6, B9, C, D, and E, and a remarkable concentration of minerals including iron, calcium, and magnesium. It is one of the most comprehensively nourishing botanical ingredients available for both internal and topical use.

In our formulas, spirulina serves a dual purpose, as a natural colorant producing soft blue-green tones, and as an active botanical delivering its dense nutritional profile to the skin and scalp.

How It Works

Spirulina's proteins, polysaccharides, and amino acids form a natural protective film on the skin and scalp that supports hydration and barrier function. Its phycocyanin content, the pigment responsible for its blue-green color, has notable antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. In haircare, its protein content helps rebuild and strengthen the hair shaft, while its minerals support a nourished, balanced scalp environment.
