Walnut oil is cold-pressed from the kernels of the common walnut, cultivated for centuries across Europe, Asia, and North America. Rich in linoleic and alpha-linolenic fatty acids, an excellent omega-6 to omega-3 ratio, as well as vitamin E and natural polyphenols, walnut oil is a nourishing, antioxidant-rich ingredient with a warm, subtly nutty character.

In our formulas, walnut oil contributes meaningful fatty acid nutrition and antioxidant support. Its balanced omega profile makes it particularly beneficial for skin that needs barrier repair and anti-inflammatory support, and it works beautifully in combination with more stable oils to create well-rounded facial blends.

How It Works

Walnut oil's alpha-linolenic acid content, an omega-3 fatty acid, supports the skin's inflammatory response and barrier integrity. Its natural polyphenol and vitamin E content provides antioxidant protection. Because it is relatively high in polyunsaturated fatty acids, it is best used in combination with more oxidatively stable oils and stored carefully to maintain freshness.

Allergy Note

Walnut oil is derived from tree nuts. Those with nut allergies should consult a healthcare professional before using products containing walnut oil.

Skin Feel

Skin feel: Lightweight, nourishing, antioxidant-rich
Best for: Dry, mature, or barrier-compromised skin

We use ground walnuts in our Mountain Man Soap. The fine grind imparts a small amount of natural walnut oil.
