Collection: Bergamot Essential Oil
Essential Oils
Citrus bergamia
Bergamot essential oil is cold-pressed from the rind of the bergamot orange, a citrus fruit cultivated almost exclusively in the Calabria region of southern Italy. Its name is thought to derive from the city of Bergamo, and it is perhaps most famous as the distinctive flavoring in Earl Grey tea. Its complex, floral-citrus character is immediately recognizable and unlike any other citrus oil.
In our formulas bergamot contributes a fresh, uplifting top note with a sophistication that pure citrus oils lack. Its linalool content gives it a floral depth that bridges citrus and florals beautifully, making it one of the most versatile and beloved oils in natural perfumery.

Character: Uplifting, balancing, sophisticated

Skin & Scalp Benefits
Bergamot's natural linalool and linalyl acetate content contribute anti-inflammatory and calming properties. It is commonly used in formulas for oily or stressed skin and scalp, where its balancing and purifying character supports a more comfortable complexion.
Precautions
Bergamot is phototoxic unless furanocoumarin-free (FCF). Avoid sun exposure on skin treated with bergamot-containing products. We use FCF bergamot in leave-on formulas.
