Zea mays,Corn Starch
Cornstarch is a fine, white powder extracted from the endosperm of corn kernels through a wet milling process. One of the most widely available and affordable natural starches, it has a long history of use in both culinary and personal care applications, valued for its absorbency, its fine texture, and its ability to provide a dry, silky finish to powder formulas without the talc-free concerns that have shifted the industry toward alternative base ingredients.
In our body powder and dry shampoo formulas cornstarch serves as an absorbent base that draws excess moisture and oil from the skin and hair surface, contributing to a dry, comfortable, powdery finish.
How It Works
Cornstarch's granular structure gives it excellent surface area for moisture and oil absorption, drawing excess sebum and sweat away from the skin surface while contributing to a smooth, matte finish. In body powder formulas it works alongside arrowroot and tapioca to create a balanced powder base with good absorbency and a silky, comfortable skin feel. In dry shampoo it helps lift excess oil from the scalp while leaving hair looking fresher and more voluminous between washes.
