Collection: Cupuaçu Butter

Base Oils & Butters

Theobroma grandiflorum

Cupuaçu butter is extracted from the seeds of the cupuaçu fruit, a relative of cacao native to the Amazon rainforest of Brazil. A staple of Amazonian communities for generations, it is now recognized as one of the most exceptional natural butters available for skincare. It can absorb more than twice its weight in water, making it one of the most effective natural humectants and emollients in plant-based formulation.

Cupuaçu butter has a remarkably silky, whipped texture that melts on contact with skin and absorbs without leaving a waxy or greasy residue. It is gentle, non-comedogenic, and compatible with even the most sensitive skin types.

How It Works

Cupuaçu's unique fatty acid profile, including oleic, stearic, palmitic, and arachidic acids, combined with its exceptional water absorption capacity, makes it deeply moisturizing in a way that goes beyond most other butters. It helps the skin retain moisture for extended periods while its phytosterols support barrier repair. Its natural compatibility with skin lipids means it integrates smoothly without disrupting the skin's balance.
