Collection: Fir Needle Essential Oil
Essential Oils
Abies sibirica / Abies alba
Fir needle essential oil is steam distilled from the fresh needles and young twigs of fir trees, most commonly Siberian fir (Abies sibirica) or silver fir (Abies alba), native to the boreal forests of Russia and the mountain forests of Europe respectively. Its clean, fresh, forest-like aroma is one of the most instantly evocative in natural aromatherapy, the scent of a deep forest after rain, crisp and resinous, with a brightness that lifts the spirits and clears the mind.
Fir needle is closely related to balsam fir but typically lighter, fresher, and more versatile, while balsam fir has a distinctly North American character, fir needle from European or Siberian species has a more universally appealing, classically coniferous aroma that works across a wide range of formula types.
