Pelargonium graveolens

Geranium essential oil is steam distilled from the leaves and flowers of the Pelargonium graveolens plant, native to South Africa but now cultivated extensively in Egypt, Réunion, and Morocco for the perfume and aromatherapy industries. Despite its name it is not from the true geranium genus, it is a pelargonium, but its complex, rose-like aroma with green, leafy, and citrusy undertones has made it one of the most valued florals in natural perfumery.

In our formulas geranium serves as a balancing mid-note that anchors floral blends and adds a sophisticated complexity to botanical formulas. It is a traditional ingredient in formulas designed for dry, stressed, or hormonally influenced skin.

Skin Benefits

Geranium's high geraniol and citronellol content contribute antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It is traditionally used in formulas for mature, dry, or combination skin, where its balancing effect on sebum production and its skin-toning properties are most beneficial.
