Collection: Ho Wood Essential Oil
Essential Oils
Cinnamomum camphora ct. linalool
Ho wood essential oil is steam distilled from the wood of the Cinnamomum camphora tree, the same species as camphor, but from a specific chemotype whose dominant constituent is linalool rather than camphor. This makes ho wood a sustainable, ethically sound alternative to rosewood (Aniba rosaeodora), a protected species whose trade is restricted due to deforestation concerns in the Amazon. Ho wood offers a similar warm, sweet, woody-floral character to rosewood at a fraction of the environmental cost.
Ho wood is cultivated sustainably in China, where the linalool-rich chemotype is selectively grown for the fragrance and aromatherapy industries. Its warm, soft, woody-sweet aroma makes it an exceptional mid-to-base note in natural perfumery and a versatile, gentle essential oil for skincare.
