Jasmine absolute is solvent-extracted from the freshly picked flowers of jasmine,a process that must be done with extreme care as jasmine flowers continue to develop their fragrance after picking, making timing and temperature critical. The finest jasmine absolute for perfumery comes from Grasse, Egypt, and India, where different species and growing conditions produce subtly different aromatic profiles. Like rose, jasmine absolute requires enormous quantities of hand-harvested flowers,making it one of the most precious and expensive ingredients in natural perfumery.
Jasmine absolute is the aromatic counterpart to jasmine flowers, which appear separately in our Botanicals library. The absolute concentrates the flower's most complex and extraordinary aromatic compounds into a form that is among the most beautiful and sophisticated in all of perfumery.
