Lavandula angustifolia
Lavender essential oil is steam distilled from the flowers of true lavender, Lavandula angustifolia, grown at high altitude across the mountains of Provence, the Drôme, and the Haute-Alpes. High-altitude lavender produces an oil of exceptional quality, with higher linalool and linalyl acetate content and a more refined, complex aroma than lower-altitude or hybrid varieties. At Le Silo Bleu we use only true lavender, not lavandin (a hybrid) or 40/42 standardized blends, because quality matters and the difference is unmistakable.
Lavender is the most versatile essential oil in natural formulation, genuinely effective, universally well-tolerated, and deeply connected to the French botanical tradition that runs through everything we make.
