It is one of the rarest and most expensive essential oils in the world,the plant produces extraordinarily small amounts of essential oil, making it extremely labor-intensive and costly to produce. Genuine melissa is often adulterated with lemongrass or citronella, so sourcing from a reputable supplier is critical.
