Azadirachta indica

Neem oil is cold-pressed from the seeds of the neem tree, native to the Indian subcontinent, where it has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for over 4,000 years. Known in Sanskrit as the "village pharmacy," the neem tree has been valued across South and Southeast Asia for its remarkable medicinal properties. The oil has a distinctive, strong, earthy aroma, a sign of its potent bioactive compounds.

Neem oil contains azadirachtin, nimbin, and a range of other naturally occurring compounds that give it powerful antifungal, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties. In our haircare formulas, it supports a balanced scalp environment, and in skincare, it is used for its purifying and soothing properties.

How It Works

Neem's bioactive compounds work at the scalp and skin surface to help regulate sebum production, reduce microbial imbalance, and support a more comfortable, balanced environment. Its fatty acid content, particularly oleic and linoleic acids, adds conditioning properties alongside its purifying benefits. It is typically used in small amounts blended with other oils, where its strong aroma is balanced, and its active properties are most effective.
