Collection: Patchouli Essential Oil
Essential Oils
Pogostemon cablin
Patchouli essential oil is steam distilled from the dried leaves of the Pogostemon cablin plant,a tropical herb native to Southeast Asia, particularly Indonesia, where it has been cultivated for centuries as a textile treatment, a traditional medicine, and a perfumery ingredient. Indian cashmere merchants used patchouli to protect their fabrics from moths during transport to Europe, and the distinctive earthy, musky aroma became so associated with authentic Eastern textiles that European buyers began to expect it,creating one of the earliest examples of a fragrance becoming a quality signal.
Patchouli is one of the most distinctive base notes in natural perfumery, deeply earthy, slightly sweet, and intensely long-lasting. It anchors and deepens blends beautifully, and improves with age,a quality shared by few other essential oils.

Skin Benefits
Patchouli's patchoulol content provides antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and mild antimicrobial properties. It is traditionally used in formulas for mature, dry, or damaged skin, where its deeply nourishing and skin-regenerating properties are most beneficial. Its exceptional fixative quality makes it a valued ingredient in candle and soap formulas where scent longevity is a priority.
