Rosemary essential oil is steam distilled from the flowering tops and leaves of the rosemary plant, the same herb we grow in our Long Island garden and that grows wild along the rocky coastlines of the Mediterranean. For our facial formulas we specifically use rosemary ct. verbenone, a chemotype produced primarily in Corsica and Morocco whose higher verbenone content makes it gentler, more skin-compatible, and particularly suited to facial skincare compared to the more camphoraceous ct. camphor variety.

Rosemary essential oil has one of the longest and most consistent records of use in European haircare, its stimulating, clarifying properties have been valued from ancient Rome to modern trichology.
