Rosemary hydrosol is the aromatic water produced during the steam distillation of rosemary - carrying the herb's clarifying, stimulating water-soluble compounds in a gentler, more skin-friendly form than the essential oil. Its clean, herbaceous character is immediately recognizable and deeply connected to the Mediterranean and Normandy botanical traditions that run through our work at Le Silo Bleu.

Rosemary hydrosol is particularly valued in haircare formulations, where its scalp-stimulating and clarifying properties complement the botanical ingredients in our shampoo and treatment formulas. It can be used directly as a scalp tonic or incorporated into leave-in formulas as part of the water phase.

How It Works

Rosemary hydrosol's naturally occurring rosmarinic acid and camphor derivatives provide antioxidant, antimicrobial, and circulation-stimulating properties at concentrations gentle enough for direct skin and scalp contact. In haircare, it supports a balanced, healthy scalp environment and may stimulate micro-circulation at the follicle level. In skincare its mild astringency helps tone and clarify oily or combination skin without over-stripping.
