Squalane is a lightweight, stable emollient derived from squalene, a compound naturally produced by human sebaceous glands and found in high concentrations in certain plant oils. Our squalane is olive-derived, produced through a sustainable hydrogenation process that converts the squalene naturally present in olive oil into the stable squalane used in skincare.

We want to be clear about our source: our squalane comes from olives, not from sharks. Shark-liver-derived squalane still exists in the market, which is why we consider it important to be transparent about where ours comes from.

How It Works

Because squalane so closely mimics the skin's own natural sebum, it is absorbed exceptionally well without a greasy or heavy residue. It is non-comedogenic, odorless, and stable- meaning it does not oxidize or go rancid easily, which makes it an excellent base and carrier in facial oil formulas. It provides immediate skin smoothness and supports long-term moisture retention by reinforcing the skin's lipid barrier.
