Collection: Tapioca Starch

Functional, Actives & Additives

Manihot esculenta,Cassava Starch

Tapioca starch is extracted from the root of the cassava plant,a starchy tuber native to South America that is now one of the most important food crops in tropical regions worldwide. In personal care formulation it is valued for the exceptionally silky, velvety skin feel it imparts to powder formulas, smoother and more refined than cornstarch or arrowroot alone, with a distinctive slip that makes it particularly pleasant in formulas applied directly to skin.

In our body powder and dry shampoo formulas tapioca starch contributes this signature silky texture that elevates the sensory experience of the finished product,a small detail that makes a perceptible difference in how the formula feels during application.

How It Works

Tapioca starch's fine, uniform particle size and smooth surface give it an exceptionally soft skin feel that glides rather than drags across the skin. Its absorbency helps manage moisture and oil at the skin surface, while its neutral character makes it compatible with virtually all other powder ingredients and fragrance components. Combined with arrowroot and cornstarch it creates a balanced powder base where each starch contributes its specific strengths, absorbency, slip, and silkiness,to the finished formula.
